Join us for an immersive workshop designed to delve into the rich and intricate world of the Enneagram and its subtypes. This interactive session is perfect for individuals seeking to deepen their understanding of themselves and others, as well as for professionals aiming to enhance their coaching, counseling, or team-building skills.
The Enneagram system identifies nine main personality types, each with distinct motivations, fears, and behavioral patterns. To add further nuance, each of these types can be influenced by one of three subtypes—also known as instinctual variants—which describe how individuals manage their interactions with the world around them. These subtypes are:
Self-Preservation (SP): This subtype focuses on personal safety, comfort, and well-being. People with a dominant self-preservation instinct prioritize physical security, health, and essentials like food and shelter. They tend to be more practical and concerned with personal safety and comfort.
Social (SO): This subtype emphasizes social interactions and the community. Individuals with a social instinct are attuned to their position within groups and are particularly sensitive to their roles in social hierarchies. They value and seek recognition, acceptance, and friendship within group dynamics.
Sexual (SX) (also known as One-to-One): This subtype intensifies personal and intimate relationships. Those with a dominant sexual instinct seek deep and intense connections and experiences with others. They often prioritize personal intensity and may pursue transformative interactions.
Each subtype adds a layer of depth to the main Enneagram types by highlighting different areas of focus or concern that affect how the core personality traits manifest in daily life. Understanding one’s subtype can provide deeper insights into their behavior patterns and motivations, offering more tailored paths for personal growth and interpersonal understanding.
