Enneagram and the OCEAN (Big Five) Assessment

Sign Up Here

The Enneagram and the OCEAN (Big Five) assessment are two prominent personality frameworks used in psychology, each with its unique approach and emphasis.

Basis and Focus

  • Enneagram: It is a model based on nine distinct personality types, each defined by core motivations, fears, and behavioral patterns. The Enneagram is particularly focused on emotional and dynamic aspects of personality, exploring deeper motivations, childhood development, and potential paths for personal growth.

  • OCEAN (Big Five): This model measures personality across five broad dimensions: Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Neuroticism. It is primarily descriptive, focusing on how these traits manifest in daily behavior rather than exploring underlying motivations.

While the Enneagram focuses on inner dynamics, growth potential, and spiritual dimensions, the OCEAN model emphasizes measurable, observable traits and their implications for behavior and compatibility in various settings. Each model serves different purposes and can complement each other in holistic personality assessment and development.
